You’ve heard of the brookie. You’ve marveled at the pizookie. Now, without further ado, we present the brake (okay, maybe we need to work on the name a little bit); part brownie and part ice cream cake. This innovation combines all of our dessert crushes - brownies, peanut butter, Coolhaus ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate-covered pretzels, and peanut butter cups. To quote the epic Lizzie Mcguire, “this is what dreams are made of”.
Make it for your Summer kick-off BBQ, your kids last day of school, your Westworld viewing party, or just to #TREATYOSELF. Get creative and make it #AsAwesomeAsYouAre by using your favorite Coolhaus ice cream, favorite candy, and favorite brownies. Here are a few ideas we had:
Cream Cheese Swirled Brownies + Farmer’s Market Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream + StrawberriesBrown Butter Blondies + Street Cart Churro Dough Ice Cream + Chocolate Chips & CinnamonMalted Milk Brownies + Milkshake and Fries Ice Cream + Malt Balls & Shoestring Fries
You Will Need:
1 13” X 9” tray of your favorite brownies, baked and cooled (we like to swirl ours with ¼ of peanut butter before baking)
4 Pints of Coolhaus Midnight Munchies Ice Cream, softened (just pull the ice cream out of the freezer 15 minutes before topping the brownie)
2 cups Fresh Whipped Cream or Whipped Topping
½ cup Peanut Butter Cups
½ cup Chocolate-Covered Pretzels, crushed
Directions
Line a 9 X 13” pan with plastic wrap
Place sheet ofbrownies in the new, lined pan (This is VERY important or the final product will get stuck in the pan)
Scoop all of the ice cream on to the brownie and spread it out as flat and as even as you can get
Freeze for 10 - 15 min
Spread whipped cream over the ice cream
Top with crushed peanut butter cups and pretzels
Freeze until ready to serve
Using the plastic wrap, pull the “brake” out of the pan
